Solarma Place Packs

Data, attribution, and license notice

Solarma Place Packs are a derivative database built from selected OpenStreetMap place records. Solarma normalizes outdoor-place fields, associates places with supported activity types, and groups the records into coarse geohash-3 regional packs for the Light Week planner.

Attribution and license

Solarma Place Packs contain map data © OpenStreetMap contributors. OpenStreetMap data is licensed under the Open Data Commons Open Database License 1.0 (ODbL). Gammy Studios offers the Solarma Place Packs derivative database under that same ODbL 1.0 license.

You may copy, share, and adapt the place-pack database under the ODbL's terms, including its attribution and share-alike requirements. The license applies to the database; individual contents can be subject to separate rights.

Public release files

Released packs are the same versioned, compressed JSON files downloaded by the app from this public directory. Each quarterly release includes a machine-readable manifest that identifies its regional pack files, byte sizes, checksums, source snapshot, builder version, and license. The separately published source manifest records each upstream OpenStreetMap extract URL and checksum used to build it.

Pack filenames use geohash-3 region identifiers. A filename identifies a broad region; it does not contain a user's precise location or any user-generated data. Place packs contain public map data only.

Release and retention policy

• New snapshots are planned quarterly and receive a versioned release path.
• The app treats a downloaded pack as fresh for 90 days, then revalidates it. When offline, it may use an older cached pack only as explicitly stale data.
• A versioned release used by a published Solarma build remains available for the supported life of that build, so the exact database conveyed with it stays identifiable.

No endorsement or warranty

OpenStreetMap contributors and upstream extract providers do not endorse Solarma or Gammy Studios. Place information can be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. Verify access, hours, fees, conditions, and safety before traveling.
